Places in Doon

Paltan Bazaar, Dehradun (Pic Courtesy Google) This is the second part of my first post in which I'm sharing my shopping and food joint experience in Dehradun. I with my sis-in-law went to Paltan Bazaar the most talked about shopping place in Dehradun it reminded me of Delhi’s Sadar Bazaar though the place is less chaotic. Paltan Bazaar has every basic thing like apparels, footwear, utensils, cosmetics, bakery, etc. I find the place quite interesting in terms of budget shopping. However, as I'm crazy for footwear I didn’t find any good stuff out there in any of the stores, seems that I’m going to miss Delhi for that. Eating joints in the market are very few and I didn’t find any of them hygienic. The place demands a nice footwear store and a good eating joint. The bazaar has a Sunday market in which you get to buy cheap stuff like clothes, footwear, bags and much more. I've heard about Rajpur Road market claimed to be a posh area of Dehradun, but haven’t been there...

New in Doon

Dehradun! Before moving from Delhi to Dehradun I was pretty fascinated about this place. I was in love with this city because love of my life belongs to this city. Whosoever, heard that I’m shifting to this place was like wow! It is such a good place, you can go to Mussoorie on weekends blah! blah! And I was pretty sure that I will love this place after chaotic, polluted and hectic four years in Delhi. Though I was in love with Delhi too but this place was special for some obvious reason. So, now it’s been nearly three months in Dehradun also known as city of love (I don’t know why?). What I like about the city is the simplicity. This place makes me happy in many ways like I love the sunny mornings which brighten up the day also, this place witnesses a mesmerizing sun disappear not every place get to see that. The sky goes orange from golden-yellow; watching it every evening is surely a treat to your eyes.  The city has some good places for shopping and eating as...
